Media Studio 2023

Due to the overwhelming demand for film studio space, Volume Global intends to get a rapid start here. If all goes as planned, the doors will open for business in the fall of 2023. Initially, they will begin by erecting a 20,000-square-foot inflatable tent-like structure, known as a pop-up soundstage (pictured).

The pop-up soundstage is just the first phase of development. By 2024, Hamilton-Wright anticipates the completion of phase two, which will include the first brick-and-mortar part of the studio. And based on the sizeable plot of land the studio will occupy, there'll be plenty of room for expansion into the future as demand requires.

The Fastest Growing Town In Manitoba

After living in Winnipeg for nearly 20 years, Kevin Yakabowski moved to the commuter town of Niverville to get more bang for his housing buck and reap the benefits of a more cohesive community.

"I know all my neighbours. Everybody around here has got my garage door code. We're all really close and I'm going to say sometimes in the city, I didn't even know half my neighbours when I lived there," said Yakabowski, who moved 25 kilometres south of Winnipeg after weighing the pros and cons of life in a bedroom community.

The 2021 census reveals he's not alone. Since 2016, Niverville's population grew from 4,610 people to 5,947, a population gain of 29 per cent, Statistics Canada says.

Strip Mall 2020

A new commercial strip mall is in the works for the lot directly east of the new Shell/Tim Hortons. This project, spearheaded by Dan Harder and Ray Dowse, will be built in phases, starting with either 6,000 or 10,500 square feet.

“We are very excited to start the ball rolling for new commercial development in the community,” says Dowse. “We are currently in conversation with several businesses on the space, and should we come to occupancy terms, the earliest potential start date for construction would be this coming fall.”

The full retail strip mall will offer approximately 30,000 square feet of retail space. No construction will begin until they have sufficient lease agreements in place.

Business Park 2020

Located approximately 30 km south of Winnipeg, Niverville is Manitoba’s youngest and fastest-growing community. As businesses and families recognize the Town’s desirable location, Niverville has seen significant growth in recent years. Today, Niverville is home to over 5,000 people, a high percentage of whom have received college/university education and trades training. With over 100 businesses in Town, residents enjoy access to a wide variety of services and amenities, as well as lower costs of living and business operations.

The Blue Crescent Hotel previously announced to be built in Niverville is getting closer to construction, and the developers behind the project are ready to share some further news about what people can expect from the property.

Steel Creek Developers have now confirmed several new details.

“The hotel will have 75 rooms, complete with meeting rooms and several different room layouts, including our differentiated standard split room design, family bunkbed rooms, kitchenette suites, and more,” says Trevor Rempel of Steel Creek Developers. “We also plan to have some additional intimate hospitality spaces that will be perfect for evening cocktails, such as for a wedding party or corporate group.”
